She has indicated interest, but I have no specific news of its fate yet. The series will be a trilogy. The third book, which I am working on now, will conclude the series.Joe Baronehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10275991273751678636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8088414462866645386.post-88218143835237422282009-02-14T12:25:00.000-05:002009-02-14T12:25:00.000-05:00Another good review, Corey. I don't read many fiction stories that incorporate aspects of mental illness, or the institutions tied to helping those efforts. I think the last book I read that had it featured in the story was James Grady's Mad Dogs. At supper one evening, my father (who was the superintendent of a state mental hospital) said, "I had a bad day." When my Mom asked him why, he said, "A patient hid a dog under his bed. I had to take it away."<BR/><BR/>Stray animals were a huge problem at the mental hospital where I grew up. People from town dumped new-born puppies and kittens by the grocery sackful, and that is no exaggeration. Those became feral animals which had to be hunted and destroyed. It was one of the sad little highlights of an institution such as the one where I grew up.<BR/><BR/>Thanks for your comments. Your critique of the book (too many side characters, etc.) was shared by my editor, Ruth Cavin and by at least one other reviewer. --Joe BaroneJoe Baronehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10275991273751678636noreply@blogger.com
