That character was very much the same in movie and book. <br /><br />Both book and movie tell essentially the same story, but each tells it in a way best suited to its medium. I see the publishers...A fine pseudonym is Pike ;-). I see the publishers were smart enough to use the movie artwork for this work. Besides the famed car chase, I always enjoyed the story line for BULLITT (can't get much better than McQueen, and Robert Vaughn played a wonderful sleazy politician). The film, IMO, is underrated as a procedural / mystery.
